Assignment 2 - High Key/Low Key

I found that I liked taking pictures of blacks more in shade where the light was less harsh. I found that the bright sunlight caused the shadows to be too dark so that I couldn't bring out the detail and it washed out the colors.

A black umbrella is not easy to balance on one's chin.

Even with my white balance adjustments on my camera, I found that I still wanted to tweak the white balance in lightroom to get the whites to look good. The light source was six 100 watt incandescent bulbs and it came out really yellow. Lightroom prettied it up nicely.

I was even able to get detail in the shadow on the slide of the glock.

Lightroom Picture Manipulation

Manually focusing this little camera is difficult. The Memory Stick PRO Duo "adapter" I have is not an adapter to SD card, so I have to get one of those. Good thing my wife, Katie, had this wonderful picture that she shared with me so I could fiddle around in Lightroom too.

Here's the original. I think I polished it nicely.
